Certain services such as travel vaccinations, driver’s medical, and letters are not covered by the Medical card and a reduced fee applies.
House Calls
Most problems can be best dealt with in the surgery, where a full range of modern equipment and services are available. However, in certain situations house calls can be arranged. Please phone before 11am for house call requests.
Routine Appointments
GP Services Oldcastle schedule 10 minutes per person for routine visits. They try to keep to this time and in order to reduce waiting times for patients they would ask you to be aware of this during consultation.
If you need a longer time for a complex problem or procedure, please let them know at the time of booking and they will allow for this.
If more than one member of your family wish to be seen, please inform reception on arrival.
Urgent/ Emergency Appointment
In the case of an urgent medical problem they will see you without an appointment. However, if possible telephone in advance to allow them to ensure that a doctor or nurse will be able to see you promptly. If you are uncertain as to the urgency of the problem, please ask at reception and a doctor or nurse will advise you on appropriate action.
GP Services Oldcastle do try to take telephone calls when possible; however, as much of their day is spent in surgery seeing patients it can be difficult to take calls. Please where possible ask the Practice Secretary/Receptionist who will help you with your enquiry.
To register with GP Services Oldcastle practice please contact reception.
They now accept payment by Visa/laser Card.
A list of fees is available at reception, please enquire 049-8541118.
